WIND ROUTES AROUND TORTOSA
This route offers a great opportunity to discover the landscapes surrounding Tortosa on a varied and demanding ride, ideal for enjoying gravel cycling in a natural setting.
We will leave Tortosa and begin the climb towards the wind turbines via the Costa de Palmes. This first section gradually gains altitude, opening up broad views over the city, the Ebro Valley and the surrounding hills.
From the highest points of the route, we will begin descending through the Font Bruta area, entering a quieter and more natural landscape. However, the route still has a second major climb in store. From here, we will head uphill again towards the Bítem wind turbines, passing by the Font de la Gràcia and following tracks that combine physical effort, peaceful surroundings and excellent views.
After completing this second mountain section, we will begin the descent towards the valley. Gradually, the landscape opens up once again towards the River Ebro, which will accompany us during the final kilometres before returning to Tortosa.
At around 36 km in length and with more than 1,000 metres of elevation gain, this route is best suited to cyclists who are comfortable with climbing and varied terrain. A complete gravel experience that reveals a different side of Tortosa, combining mountains, natural springs, tracks and sweeping views over the Ebro.
