It takes its name from being a fortification located outside the circuit of walls, and its pointed shape resembles a type of ecclesiastical hat bearing that name. It was built during the 17th–18th centuries. It mainly consists of a single bastion surrounded by a narrow moat. The main structure has a polygonal layout adapted to the topography of the hill on which it stands. Inside, it preserves two levels: at the lower level, two underground chambers, and at the upper level, loopholes and embrasures for artillery. The two barrel-vaulted chambers were probably intended for storing gunpowder. On the exterior, there is a large heraldic shield that has not yet been identified.
