Experience a challenging 50 km climb with stunning views at the summit, perfect for adventurous tourists seeking breathtaking landscapes and a rewarding journey.

Mont Caro, the holy mountain
A 1,500 m climb from Tortosa to the top of Mount Caro. Leaving Tortosa is basically flat, but upon leaving Roquetes we will find the first slope, a prelude for what is to come.

We continue up the gentle slope before reaching the bottom of the mountain, where the real climb begins. Bending past the statue dedicated to the wild mountain goat and up some steep hills (some up to 10% gradient), we reach Portell (the end of the 2017 Catalán Bike Tour).

After 2 gentle kilometres, we start the final 4 km climb to the top of Caro, where spectacular views await us.

Going back down the same route, we return to Tortosa.

Distance: Approximately 50 km
Physical level: high
Technical level: easy
Incline/decline: 1,500m incline
Starting and finishing point: The Old Slaughterhouse in Tortosa
